Situation Management overview
Physical security management relies on data from sensors, cameras and other technologies and also on the abilities of human planners and responders to interpret that data. Situation awareness systems help to aggregate, prioritize and filter security data so that control room personnel can more easily manage situations as they unfold. With situation awareness, however, the data remains passive. Situation Management uses awareness data to automate pre-planned response procedures, assign, deploy and manage responder and sensor tasks, and develop and manage training simulations based on real incidents. In essence, Situation Management takes passive awareness data and puts it to work, improving response time and effectiveness, ensuring business continuity and protecting security resource investment.
